My Personal Cup of Ambition

         A Cup of Ambition

That Cup of Ambition

blends two spoonfuls of Curiosity

with one splash of Courage—

a magical mixture

that stirs the Imagination

without a single artificial sweetener.

And then—

as if summoned

by the steam rising from my kettle,

there appeared

my Coat of Many Colorful Fabrics—

stitched together by my best friends,

each colorful piece carrying

a little bit of their friendship.

I sat upon my country porch,

waiting for that kettle to whistle,

waiting for the moment

when I could begin brewing

that steaming Cup of Ambition.

Perhaps ambition

isn't something we simply drink.

Perhaps—

it's something we brew

within ourselves,

one spoonful of curiosity,

one splash of courage,

and a whole kettle

of imagination.
